Craving Comeback!

My appetite and cravings have pretty much disappeared.  BUT I did get a sudden craving today.  Must have thanksgiving food, particulary stuffing and pumpkin pie.  I don't know why....

Boy or Girl?

Tomorrow is the big day.  We find out if Baby Han is team blue or team pink.  I've waited anxiously for what feels like years.  Friends and family have predicted both based on how I'm carrying and what I've been craving.  As of now, it really is 50/50.  They say mothers have a gut instinct and I did think it was a girl at one point, but this morning I was looking at our ultrasound pictures on the fridge and couldn't help but notice what appears to be a very obvious "boy part."  Either way, I will be extremely happy and all I can ask for is a healthy and happy baby.

It will be really funny if Baby Han decides he/she wants to keep us in suspense and hides the goods during tomorrow's appointment...

OH and yesterday I felt baby move for the first time.  It was one distinct little "pop" right beneath my belly button.  :)

I'm on a mission to try every flavor of Juice It Up.  Must have cold, refreshing fruit slush!!!  I love my juicer/blender and am going on a juice binge with fresh fruit from farmers market this weekend!

Hormones

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and I can't shake this feeling.  I'm moody and irritable and wish it was Friday.  I feel like I'm on the verge of tears and everything is just frustrating me!! Trying to think happy thoughts for baby though.  I should seriously look into prenatal yoga or meditation.

Update edit.  We had a huddle at work and my boss let us all know that her husband might have bone cancer.  As she explained the situation in tears, I felt incredibly sad for her and her family and foolish for feeling so moody today just because I wanted to call in sick for having a "bad day."  My boss is sincere, caring, hard working and prays alot for everyone.  She dedicates herself to work 150% even after everyone has gone home and always makes time to answer your questions even when she is up to her ears with projects.  It really saddens me when bad things happen to good people.  Her and her family are good people.  I really hope everything works out for them and it isn't bone cancer.

Popsicles!

Fruit flavored and cold.  I've been getting extremely hot lately, especially after I eat, so these help cool me down and quench my thirst.  Plus the bright colors make me happy.  YUM YUM!!

HUGE?!

your baby's the size of an avocado!
Now, she's about 4.6 inches long and weighs about 3.5 ounces, and she's big enough that your doctor may be able to hear her heartbeat.
your baby at 16 weeks
  • Listening to your voice, thanks to tiny bones forming in her ears
  • Growing hair, lashes and eyebrows
  • Forming taste buds
So today I was asked if I was 6 or 7 months into my pregnancy.  When I replied, "no, FOUR" the jerk says, "too big!" and walks away. RUDE!!!

Gaining weight like crazy with major body/hormone changes isn't easy so a polite, "congratulations" is fine!

I feel like I'm starting to get my second wind back.  The morning sickness is almost gone and I'm not as exhausted as I was during the last few months.  No crazy cravings anymore either although I still don't care for red meat.  Still counting down until the 24th.

15 Weeks

Baby's now the size of a naval orange!
Continuing the march toward normal proportions, baby's legs now out-measure his arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably can't feel the movements just yet.

I can't get enough seafood lately, especially shrimp, crab and lobster.  I've always loved seafood but it's EXTRA delicious lately :)  We had boiling crab twice in one week.  Seafood is a concern for most pregnant women because of the mercury but I checked with my doctor and she said I can eat all the shrimp I want as long as they're fully cooked so YAY!  Just no seafood high in mercury such as swordfish, shark and some other fish but I don't eat those anyway.  Still no cravings for red meat but I am really loving fruit and fresh salad.

In the past few weeks I've developed a rash on my face, neck, chest, arms and legs.  It's really bothersome and itchy.  I'm convinced it's pregnancy related and am going to another dermatologist for a second opinion.
